SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Marcus Evans (D-Chicago) showed his support for the American Cancer Society and their efforts to raise awareness at the Suits and Sneakers event at the Illinois State Capitol, Wednesday. The event aimed to boost enrollment for the CPS-3 cancer prevention study, dedicated to better understanding the genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that cause and prevent cancer.

“As a cancer survivor, I am grateful for American Cancer Society’s continuous efforts to raise awareness, advocate for the people and families affected by cancer, and sponsor life-changing research on cancer treatments,” Evans said. “I truly appreciate this event and thank my colleagues for their show of support.”

According to the American Cancer Society, men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer are needed to participate in the CPS-3 study. To learn more, or to make an appointment visit cps3Illinois.org, or call 1-888-604-5888.
