Evans Hosts “Obamacare” Affordable Care Act Information Sessions

CHICAGO, IL – To help connect residents with healthcare services, State Rep. Marcus C. Evans Jr., D-Chicago, is hosting an Affordable Care Act information session Tuesday, February 11 at 11 a.m. at the Compassion Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 2650 E. 95th Street in Chicago.

“It’s important that residents have a good understanding of new federal health care laws so that they can make informed decisions on their health,” Evans said. “I encourage everyone to come out and take advantage of this opportunity to gain resources that will help them receive the medical care they need to maintain wellness.”

Counselors will be on-site to answer questions and to help with enrollment. Attendees that would like to enroll are encouraged to bring proof of residency, proof of income, and an employer policy number if available.

“As a cancer survivor, I know firsthand how important it is to have coverage, and that preventative care and early detection can save lives,” Evans said. “I believe that everyone has the right to quality health care and I am glad to be a part of this local effort to get more people covered.”

Rep. Evans will be joined by Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore, 7th Ward Alderman, Natashia Holmes, 8th Ward Alderman Michelle A. Harris, 10th Ward Alderman John Pope and Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc.
