Student Success Strategist

Works with appropriate entities to develop and implement a broad range of activities and programs that support student success including: student tracking, student transition, peer mentoring, learning communities and other retention related strategies.

Also, works with current and prospective students to provide information and access to appropriate services and assists students throughout the enrollment and completion process.

1. Collaborates with relevant college areas to develop and implement student success programs and systems.

2. Direct responsibility for implementing program completion activities with students seeking a degree or certificate.

3. Provides intervention strategies at critical points of the students' educational path.

4. Supports the efforts of new students at orientation and continuing students at enrollment activities.

5. Interacts with students and campus visitors to provide in depth knowledge and assistance with college programs and services.

6. Evaluates, assesses, and provides regular reports of progress of student success strategies and activities and provides support toward tracking student persistence and retention rates.

7. Serves as a resource for development of new student success strategies and supporting technologies.

8. Consults with and facilitates access to resources for Adult Education faculty engaging in credit course transition activities.

9. Assists with the developing and facilitating of transition related activities that promote the enrollment of GED/ESL students in credit courses.

10. Assists with providing access to resources for Adult Education faculty engaging in credit course transition activities.

11. Assists in arranging, developing, and facilitating student success related professional development activities for faculty and staff.

12. Provides supervision for designated student success program related personnel.

13. Assists with the coordination, development, and implementation of appropriate student success strategies.

14. Implements and revises a communication plan that connects student success initiatives on campus and promotes resources available to students and the campus community.

15. Serves on various institutional committees as assigned.

16. Coordinates the development of student resources which support all aspects of student success.

17. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology or related field. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience:
Two to three years experience in student advisement, working with at-risk students and students from a variety of cultural/ethnic backgrounds.

Experience and using retention strategies and technologies to monitor and support student success.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of retention strategies and technologies to support and improve student success.

Skills:

Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong student service orientation required.

Solid technology skills essential.

Ability to manage short-term and long-term projects and provide reports for grant purposes.

Bi-lingual fluency preferred.
