Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support Invenergy’s development team through social media activities – creating and executing strategies to support Invenergy’s rapidly growing business.

The Public Affairs Associate will provide social media and marketing support to the Public Affairs team.

This position will focus on social media content management and monitoring for Invenergy’s development projects (e.g. wind, solar or natural gas projects) across the country.

This position will report to a Public Affairs Manager.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.

Responsibilities:

Leverage industry experience related to marketing and social media campaigns to amplify engagement with our project-focused social media

Create, curate and manage social media editorial calendars for Invenergy’s development projects

Take initiative to learn about our host communities and connect with our audience where Invenergy is developing projects

Collaborate and coordinate with the Public Affairs team, and Project Development team, to stay apprised of project development timelines

Monitor and respond to social media engagement on our project pages (primarily on Facebook and Twitter)

Be knowledgeable about development and siting issues that relate to our project work and communications

Assist with website content management related to our development projects

Other tasks as assigned

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree with well-rounded training required

1-3 years relevant industry experience in social media or marketing campaign management

Strong writing and communication skills

Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail

Self-starter with a great work ethic

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high achieving, entrepreneurial environment

Outlook, Excel knowledge

Some grassroots or campaign organizing a plus

Background and passion for the energy sector a plus
