Position Overview

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, this individual contributor will be involved in all aspects of the company’s transportation operations including analysis of current freight programs, creation/implementation of new freight programs, maintaining collaborative relationships with strategic carrier partners, and most generally, acting as an internal resource for day to day transportation related questions.

Responsibilities Include:
Day-to-day management of our internal TMS for all outbound shipments, as well as our web-based TMS for all North American routed direct shipments.

Day-to-day contact for all North American dedicated drivers.

Analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations for all logistics programs.

Utilize multiple systems and software to develop and maintain reporting tools to support business decisions.

Invoice auditing and approval.

Work internally and with customers to provide cost estimates and transportation solutions.

Expediting orders as needed.

Ability to work cross functionally with all groups in the company – purchasing, customer service, IT, and accounting.

Become expert in DOT hazardous shipping regulations.

Cross train with other department personnel and perform other duties as necessary.

The ideal candidate will have:
Recent College Graduate with Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain preferred.

Project management skills, leadership, and ability to multi-task.

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables and v-lookups).

Strong communication skills - ability to tactfully interact with co-workers ranging from hourly warehouse employees to C-level executives.

Team oriented and relationship builder.
