Development Manager assists in ongoing planning and implementation of a comprehensive Fundraising Strategy to advance the strategic objectives of the organization.

Responsibilities include grants activities (75%); individual giving activities (15%) and event planning activities (10%).


Grants Activities

Plans, develops, and composes or manages composing of competitive grant applications to various sources including Federal, State and local government;

Corporations; and other various funding organizations.

Manages a portfolio of private and public grants including tracking outcomes, submitting reports, and coordinating with Finance and relevant Program staff to ensure the successful outcome of the grant.

Researches and maintains a grant prospects portfolio and actively engages with potential funders to advance the mission of CFHC.

Responsible for all components of the Health Resources and Services Administration Section 330 grant, including but not limited to: completing competing and non-competing applications, ensuring compliance with the Federal Torts Claim Act (FTCA), overseeing Uniformed Data Systems (UDS) reporting requirements;

Maintaining the System of Award Management (SAM);

Preparing relevant reports and other duties as assigned.

Maintains accurate and complete grant records, both paper and paperless, in compliance with CFHC guidelines.

Works closely with staff to identify organizational needs and priorities to develop funding requests, proposals and opportunities to secure support for CFHC programs, services and organizational capacities.
Individual Giving and Event Planning Activities

Develop and implement strategies for solicitation that will grow annual revenue from individuals in collaboration with the Chief Officer of Strategy, Planning and Development.

Manage all appeal campaigns, manage and monitor online giving initiatives, work collaboratively with other program areas to advance fundraising goals;

Meet with donors as determined by Chief Officer, Strategy, Planning and Development.

Coordinate events logistics to ensure an exceptional donor experience, with a focus on cultivation and stewardship.

Conceptualize and implement small donor cultivation events and annual event.

Oversee database management, gift processing, development and fulfillment of donor benefits, gift recognition donor correspondence, and mailings.

Other Requirements

Maintains the highest level of confidentiality related to agency and donor/prospect information.

Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study and minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated fundraising experience;

Experience in healthcare fundraising preferred.

Quality knowledge of the principles and practices of grant preparation and administration, plus working knowledge of the sources of funding required.

Proven communications skills including experience in writing direct mail appeals, e-appeals, websites, and social media communications.

Special event experience preferred.

Outgoing personality and ability to initiate and enjoy direct communication with donors and funders;

Customer-service orientation.

Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge

Ability to handle diverse, simultaneous tasks, meet strict deadlines, and attend to follow through.
