Director of Human Resources

Champaign County Nursing Home is currently recruiting a Director of Human Resources to join our dedicated TEAM!

CCNH is proud to provide compassionate long-term, rehabilitative, memory care, respite, and adult day care services to seniors citizens in our community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree in Human Relations, Personnel Administration or a directly related field.

Professional experience in the area of personnel administration including experience working with labor union contracts.

Strong management skills and knowledge of and skill in the application of the principals of personnel management and Federal and State labor laws.

Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing and respect for the principals of EEO,
ADA, Resident Right’s and Confidentiality.

Strong working knowledge relating to FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, labor contracts, etc…

Pervious experience in long term care preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

Coordinate personnel policies and practices;

Educate management staff regarding Federal, State and County regulations and contracts related to Personnel Management.

Recruit, screen, interview and recommend the hiring of Nursing Home employees; recommend disciplinary action and termination as necessary.

Plans and conducts new employee personnel orientation programs explaining Nursing Home policies and procedures, salary structure, employee benefit coverage, etc…

Oversees maintenance of employee personnel records and compiles records on new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, employee incidents and related personnel data.

Ensure compliance with Federal and State labor laws including FLSA, PMLA, EEO, ADA and ILRA.

Responsible for preparation of the Nursing Home payroll and coordinating bi-weekly submittal of Nursing Home payroll and resolving payroll problems.

Manage worker’s compensation claims from nursing home employees.

Assists with organizing projects such as United Way Campaign, Section 125, insurance enrollment periods and deferred compensation sign up.

Responds to unemployment claims, requests for FMLA and becomes involved with employee grievances, arbitration cases, negotiations and legal suits.

Tracks turnover and injury rates.

Works closely with Department Leaders to ensure that adequate staffing levels are maintained in compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines.

Prepares job postings and advertisements, position salary/benefits, required qualifications, promotion opportunities, etc...

Participates in job evaluation committees and wage and benefit surveys to determine competitive wage rates for Nursing Home employees and analyzes the data collected and makes compensation recommendations.

Represents the Nursing Home in union contract negotiations and provides reports as required to the union.

Salary Range: Based Upon Experience

Status: Full-time with an excellent benefit package including paid time off, medical, dental and vision insurance.

Schedule: Day Shift; Monday - Friday with occasionally weekend Manager on Duty shifts
