Marcus C. Evans Jr. Sworn in as State Representative of the 33rd District


SPRINGFIELD, IL - State Rep. Marcus C. Evans Jr. (D-Chicago) was sworn into office on Wednesday, beginning his first full term as State Representative of the 33rd District. Rep. Evans was appointed to fill the vacancy of retired state Rep. Marlow Colvin in April.

In his first full term, Evans will continue his efforts to advocate for affordable health care, creating better job opportunities and providing a quality education for our children.

"I am proud to represent my community and continue to addresses the needs of my constituents," Evans said. "I look forward to working with the residents of the 33rd District to improve our schools, increase access to quality affordable health care and work to bring more jobs to our area."

Evans represents the 33rd District, which includes parts of Chicago's 7th, 8th and 10th Wards, as well as parts of suburban Burnham, Calumet City, Lansing, Lynwood and Sauk Village.
